         L’insolite: an unusual

       wine born in Beaujolais

Maison Mommessin knows how to listen to what its consumers want.
The Maison is now celebrating its 150th birthday, and has decided to
take a new step forward and break the mould. Following the trend for
clear, fresh and light red wines, it is offering a new cuvée cheekily named
L’Insolite (meaning ‘unusual’ or ‘strange’), signifying a changing world.
This wine is original in nature but has retained its delicacy and serious
style: it is made from the iconic Beaujolais grape variety of Gamay,
boldly combined with the two light grapes Braucol and Mauzac for
       their aromas and freshness.
The result: a light, bright appearance, aromas of cherry, strawberry
and grenadine, a delicate texture, and a radiant style on the palate.
This wine is best served chilled at 10 to 12°C and has a modest alcohol
       content (11.5%).
This is perfect as an aperitif with tapas, as a dessert with red fruit, or
served with light, colourful cuisine such as gazpacho, beef carpaccio,
charred vegetables à la plancha or sea bream.
