Vinifying the equivalent of a 250-hectare estate, Lucie Depuydt, oenologist, and soil
expert, draws out the essence of J. Moreau & Fils wines with precision and patience.
These Chablis wines have nuances of terroir that were set down 250 million years
ago. They have a distinct Kimmeridgian character, but so much more besides!
2021 marks a turning point in the history of the house with new packaging for
the Gloire range. This name refers to the relics of Saint Martin bequeathed to the
monastery of Saint Loup de Chablis in 867 by King Charles II, or Charles the Bald,
and which were thereafter known as La Gloire de Chablis.
This range is intended for the traditional retail circuit and includes all four levels
of the Chablis appellation, namely Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and
Chablis Grand Cru.
Some of the wines are barrel-aged, and they all offer a wonderfully cosmopolitan
and contemporary selection of potential food/wine pairings.
