08/11 - A cuvée to raise money for fire victims in Napa and Sonoma...
A cuvée to raise money for fire victims in Napa and Sonoma.
In October, when the harvests were drawing to a close, terrible wildfires hit California, and the Napa and Sonoma regions in particular, destroying 89,000 hectares of land, destroying some 6,000 homes, and leaving 41 victims in their wake.
Jean-Charles Boisset, who watched on as Buena Vista was saved from the flames, then decided to create a cuvée from which all profits would be donated to the Bay Area firefighters and their families, and to the Napa Community Fund and the Sonoma Resilience Fund.
The name of the cuvée is Honoris, and the wine itself embodies the combined talents of winemakers Stephanie Putman from Raymond Vineyards and Brian Maloney from DeLoach, and uses Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes from the two valleys. Honoris is a fine, elegant, and sophisticated wine, that represents all the majesty of the 2016 vintage.
Honoris went on sale in December 2016 on the JCB By Jean-Charles website. It underscores the commitment Boisset’s American family to the wider family of wine.
A limited edition of 3,600 bottles is available, retailing at $75 for a total donation of $270,000.
