Les Nouvelles de BOISSET - SUMMER 2018 - N°41
Innovation: a new interactive label! The oldest wine house in California, Buena Vista was established in 1857 by the somewhat eccentric Count Agoston Harszthy, a Hungarian who came to California and was a pioneer in the wine industry. And Buena Vista continues to innovate today! Its wine called The Count, from the 2015 vintage, has new packaging including an interactive label. The first of its kind, scanning it reveals the Count in person, who describes the history of Buena Vista and this blend of seven varietals. In 2016, Buena Vista produced its first Champagne from selected vines on La Montagne de Reims and the slopes of the Côte des Blancs, from the grand cru villages of Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger (see Nouvelles de Boisset n°38). In 2018, Buena Vista created Victoire Champagne, a rosé blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. Its fine bubbles explode in the mouth to reveal myriad aromas of black berries and almond.
