Les Nouvelles de BOISSET - SUMMER 2018 - N°41
17 Boisset La Famille des Grands Vins www.boisset.com - Summer 2018 Languedoc Produced from vines that grow on the hills and mountains, producing powerful and concentrated grapes, their varietal character reflects their geological, climatic, and cultural diversity. Plot selection ensures a rich and varied source of fruit, and hand-crafted vinification results in balanced wines. The hills are garrigue scrubland, where aromas of thyme and rosemary waft amongst the vines that grow between 50-250 meters above sea level. The sun is hot, the land is dry, and the nights are cool. These are ideal conditions for producing fleshy, broad wines, with aromas of ripe fruit and spicy notes with lovely length on the tongue. The vines that grow at the foot of the Cévennes and the Black Mountain at between 250-400 meters above sea level produce wines that are all about finesse and freshness. Elegant and complex, these varietals express the purity of the fruit over floral notes. These are wines whose balance sits between aromatic power and minerality, thanks to the diversity of the soil which can offer limestone, sandstone, clay, schist, and volcanic rock. Malbec: Elegant and lively Limestone slopes These vines flourish at the foot of the Black Mountains. Just like the stags that live in the forest, this cuvée is all about elegance and tension. Viognier: Fresh and velvety Limestone slopes A wine like the broom that grows on the schist soil of the Languedoc. Merlot: Smooth and sophisticated Permian slopes The red earth of the Salagou Valley dates back to the Permian (primary era around 300 million years ago), and with its arid soil, is the setting where this cuvée was created. Syrah: Full-bodied and spicy Volcanic slopes The vines draw their complexity from the basalt, and to preserve this freshness, the grapes are harvested at night. Cabernet-Sauvignon: Rich and complex Jurassic slopes This limestone land that is several millions of years old offers the perfect substrate for an intense and indulgent wine. Chardonnay: Purity and elegance Limestone hills The vines flourish at between 250-600m above sea level, where the nights are cool and conditions perfect for the expression of the Chardonnay grape. Carignan: Light and characterful Limestone hills This is a Carignan made from old vines and aged 10 months in oak to bring richness and complexity. www.fortant.com @fortant_en Fortant_FR Fortant_FR Fortant Freshness and elegance of the Languedoc FORTANT DE FRANCE TERROIR D’ALTITUDE With its new Terroir d’Altitude range, Fortant de France is offering seven vintage varietal wines with a clear-cut style: The freshness and elegance of the Languedoc.
