Les Nouvelles de BOISSET - SUMMER 2018 - N°41
16 Boisset La Famille des Grands Vins www.boisset.com - Summer 2018 ESCALE À SÈTE, BETWEEN LAND AND SEA For the third time, Fortant is partnering with Escale à Sète, the biannual event whose impact goes well beyond the borders of the Languedoc. Once again in spring, the wine house’s colors flew over the port town for a week. Tastings were held in some 30 partner restaurants and on the two Fortant stands in the Escale à Sète village. For the occasion, the Russian ship Kruzenshtern , the second-biggest four-master in the world, built in 1926, was moored in the heart of the town, welcoming Fortant clients, the press, and guests on board to discover the alliance of Gaia wines with the vegetable-based cuisine of starred chef Jean-Luc Rabanel. Fortant at the K-Live Festival in Sète 31 May - 3 June For 10 years now, the K-Live Festival has been showcasing urban art in all its forms. It features work by five guest artists that can be seen as one walks around the streets of the town, enjoying the Mediterranean breeze to the strains of a series of concerts. This year, for the first time, Fortant is sponsoring this event so dear to the city of Sète, providing a chance for the producer to once again underscore its commitment to this town nicknamed “The Venice of the Languedoc”. BIB BY FORTANT A “BIB”, or “bag in box” is the perfect solution for family gatherings or events with friends, or those early summer impromptu barbecues. When there’s a big group to host, Fortant offers two-liter BIBs of two ranges of wines caressed by the Mediterranean breeze: Grande Nuit and Lux. La Grande Nuit Indulgence from the Pays d’Oc With its southern roots, La Grande Nuit refers to how the grapes that make the wine are harvested by night to keep the fruit cool and preserve all the liveliness and crispness in this range of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Merlot rosé, and Pinot Noir. Lux Coteaux Varois The light of Provence This range embodies the Mediterranean lifestyle and the light – lux in Latin – which is so special here, and the sailing ships guided by the lighthouse in Sète, where Fortant is based. Sunshine, cicadas, and gentle sea breezes combine in a delicate rosé, a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, with grapes harvested in the morning for more freshness. Indulgent flavors of red berries and white blossom will light up an aperitif, a lunch beside the sea, or a dinner under the pergola. Languedoc The story goes on between Fortant and ImageSingulières ImageSingulières, the International Documentary Photography event which was held in Sète from 8 to 27 May 2018, this year celebrated its tenth anniversary. A loyal supporter of this festival, Fortant, pioneer of varietal wines in the Languedoc, was once again patron and partner. The opening gala was held in the company’s historic winery to kick off 20 packed days of events around more than a dozen exhibitions and numerous encounters between photographers, whether professional or amateur, and the public, with a record number of 60,000 visitors. Ahead of the festival, Fortant organized a competition for amateur photographers, on the theme Around wine, the sea . The awards ceremony took place on 12 May in the presence of its director, Laurent Sauvage. More evidence that Fortant is continually taking an original view on the world of wine.
