New Crémant de Bourgogne wines from JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset.
JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset is the only transversal brand that applies to both Burgundy and American wines, not to mention the Indian cuvée N°47! They are produced from the terroir by the house’s elite winemakers under the direction of Jean-Charles with a resolutely intense and expressive style, that is as flamboyant as the wines’ sophisticated two-color packaging.
Two new limited-edition cuvées have just been released, with numbers just as symbolic for their creator and unique qualities intimately linked to this personal story. Gold has given way to silver in the same sober and plush spirit.
N°39: Crémant de Bourgogne 2009, limited edition of 2,500 bottles
Intuitive, loyal, and adventurous
An exclusive blend of Blanc de Blancs from Burgundy Village appellations around Beaune. This exceptional juice, produced in a hot and generous vintage, brings breadth and richness. Very long ageing of nine years on laths has brought a complexity that only time can confer on great wines.
N°39 takes us back to 1939 when a young couple who met in Beaune got married, just before the young man left for the front to fight for the Allies in the Second World War. History tells us that her intuition that he would return was correct, that he fought loyally for three years, and would return after his adventures to meet his daughter for the first time. This couple were Jean-Charles’s grandparents, and it is to them that this wine is dedicated.
N°65: Crémant de Bourgogne 2010, limited edition of 1,670 bottles
Lively, perspicacious, culmination
This Blanc de Noirs is produced from Pinot Noir grapes from a village close to Beaune. The rounded, complex character of this wine is accentuated by the 2010 vintage which was pure and forthright in Burgundy, a classic vintage that is all about persistance. With eight years of ageing on lees to polish its powerful patina and length in the mouth.
The name refers to 1965, the year Jean-Charles’s parents got married. His mother Claudine was full of life, his father Jean-Claude perspicacious and intelligent. Together, they formed a synergy, marking a high point in the world of wine, and an ambiance in which Jean-Charles and his sister Nathalie were raised.
